Director of Christian Education and Youth Activities, PT, Trinity Presbyterian Church. Training and experience in Christian education and youth ministry desired. The qualified applicant must share a belief in the reformed Christian faith.
Trinity Presbyterian Church is seeking a creative and independent person to serve as our congregation's part-time Director of Christian Education and Youth Activities. The qualified applicant will share a belief in the reformed Christian faith and possess a strong interest in furthering the mission and purpose of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Training and previous experience in Christian education and youth ministry is desired.
This part time position includes a salary of $700 per month. Weekly work schedules will average about 15 hours/week, but will require flexibility in order to meet the changing seasonal needs of the church. Attendance at Trinity Presbyterian Church during Sunday school and worship will be required, as well as participation in monthly Christian Education Committee meetings.
Under the direction of the Christian Education Committee, the Director of Christian Education and Youth Activities will be expected to:
Recommend curricula for use in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School
Periodically evaluate the Christian Education needs of the Church
Direct and facilitate the weekly Sunday School programs for children and youth
Coordinate the annual selection and training of Sunday School teachers
Direct and facilitate the annual Vacation Bible School
Coordinate and direct all youth activities, which include weekly youth meetings, lock-ins, youth mission trips, the annual youth worship service, youth fund raising activities, youth volunteer activities, Presbytery Youth meetings, Synod Youth meetings, and special youth functions, such as the youth Triennium.
Work to increase youth participation in all youth activities.
Publicize all youth activity events.
Work with the pastor in preparing junior sermons and children’s worship opportunities.
The person filling this position, which begins as soon as possible, is employed by the Session (governing body) of Trinity Presbyterian Church, and applicants will be interviewed by the Administration and Personnel Committee and the Christian Education Committee of the Session.
